A brief overview of the classifications

Here you will find an overview of the various elastomers, plastics and high-pressure sealing materials that we use to manufacture our products. Each material offers specific properties and application benefits to meet the diverse requirements of our customers.
Our range of materials includes a wide selection of elastomers such as natural rubber (NK), styrene-butadiene rubber (SBR), nitrile-butadiene rubber (NBR), hydrogenated nitrile-butadiene rubber (H-NBR), chloroprene (CR), ethylene-propylene-diene-methyl (EPDM), thermoplastic elastomers (TPE), solid silicone, liquid silicone (LSR), Viton (FPM, FKM, FFKM) and various foams such as sponge rubber and cellular rubber.
Our materials offer a variety of properties and resistances, be it good abrasion resistance, good elasticity or chemical resistance to a wide range of substances and media, UV, ozone and weather resistance for outdoor use, as well as wide temperature ranges for a wide variety of applications.
We can also meet specific standards and approvals, such as UL94, KTW, EN16421, DVGW, FDA, BfR and others, as well as industry-specific standards in the automotive sector.

NK, NR (natural rubber)

Simple standard quality with very good abrasion resistance. Only very limited resistance to acids and alkalis

NBR (nitrile butadiene rubber)

Good abrasion resistance and very good resistance to most oils and lubricants. Not recommended for use with acids and alkalis

CR (chloroprene, neoprene)

Good resistance to weathering and ozone, not recommended for use with acids. Self-extinguishing (flame retardant)

Foam rubber

Open-pore foam in various qualities such as NBR, CR, EPDM

Silicone, LSR

Suitable for use in high temperatures up to approx. 200° C. Very good UV, weathering and ozone resistance. Also suitable for contact with oil

Automotive sector

SBR (styrene butadiene rubber)

Very good abrasion resistance. Limited resistance to acids and alkalis. Not suitable for contact with oil

EPDM (ethylene propylene diene methyl)

Very good UV, ozone and weather resistance. Excellent for outdoor use. Not suitable for contact with oil

TPE (thermoplastic elastomers)

Good abrasion and tensile strength, UV and weather resistant, free from plasticizers, high temperature resistance

Cellular rubber

Closed-cell foam in various qualities such as NK, EPDM, CR, NBR

Viton (FPM, FKM, FFKM)

Ideally suited for use in high temperatures up to approx. 250° C. Very good UV, weathering and ozone resistance. Also suitable for contact with oil
